Combining funk, blues, and jazz into a musical melting pot is what resonates with me the most. And at times a melody comes out of the bass subconsciously that begins a life of its own. Such is the case for “Do It”. Just two contrasting sections given a little arrangement and voilà, a catchy tune that might turn into an ear worm if you’re not careful. The title refers to something you might hear jazz musicians say to one another on the bandstand during a great musical moment, another way of saying “more of that please! - C.A.
