I wrote this song on the first day of a six-week artist residency program at the magical Villa Lena in Tuscany, Italy. Kind of like how the Coen Brothers based "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" on Homer's "The Odyssey" without actually having read it, this was my take on the sort of dance I could imagine in those small medieval villages without actually delving into the style. The A section evokes the feeling of winding up the Tuscan hills through small rustic villages, while the more modern R&B tonality of the B section reflects the bohemian artists colony that awaited us at the top of the hill. - A.G.
